Personal Branding for Your Virtual Assistant Business
What is Branding?
As defined by the American Marketing Association a brand is a name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.
Establishing business branding is what sets your business apart from your competitors. You are the brand. You want to be able to leave a lasting and memorable impression on the minds of your target market and customers.
To be successful in personal and business branding you must know what it encompasses. Here are a few things:
1) Name
2) Identifying Mark
3) Logos
4) Colors
5) Visual Images or Symbols
6) Mental Concepts
7) Your Target Market
8) Your Core Values and Mission
9) Taglines
10) Unique Selling Proposition or Point
Business Branding in Action
Let’s look at some examples business branding. When you think of the department store Target what is the first image to pop in you mind? The image that pops into my mind is a red circle with a red dot in the center of it. Target has done an excellent job of business branding with this logo. You automatically associate that logo with Target.Â
What about taglines? I’m going to give you some popular taglines and let’s see if you can figure out what company they are associated with.
1) I’m Lovin’ It
2) Just Do It!
3) Have It Your Way
4) Gotta Eat
Several companies use taglines as part of their business branding. These taglines have left lasting impressions on your mind, and no doubt when you hear them you automatically think of the Company they’re associated with. That’s their exact purpose.Â
What’s Your Brand?
What is your Unique Selling Proposition? In other words, what sets your company apart from your competition. What makes you and your company unique. Dominos Pizza is an perfect example of a Unique Selling Proposition. Years ago Dominos Pizza guaranteed that if they didn’t deliver your pizza within 30 minutes of your order it would be free. No one else was offering anything like it. This is what made them unique and set them apart from their competition.
Who are you? What are your values? What is your company’s mission? Who is your target market? All of these questions should be taken into consideration when creating your personal or business brand. You want your target market to remember who you are, and how to find you when they need assistance for their business. Good personal and business branding is the key to doing so. Start working on personal and business branding for your Virtual Assistance business today.
